HP make quality printers and their ink cartridges are equally so. Unfortunately, however, OEM HP ink cartridges and toner cartridges can be expensive; but there are ways to save money. Remanufactured HP ink cartridges, recycled cartridges and refill kits are just some of the ways you can reduce costs without reducing the quality of your printing.
Remanufactured HP ink cartridges are cartridges that have been manufactured to meet OEM standards and specifications. In other words, you are buying a cartridge that meets all the requirements of an ink cartridge that has been manufactured by Hewlett Packard but at a fraction of the cost.
Recycled HP ink cartridges are used cartridges that have been cleaned, refilled with printer ink and then tested to ensure they meet OEM standards. The majority of cartridges that are recycled today are toner cartridges which greatly reduces the impact on our environment in terms of land fill.
One of the cheapest ways to save money on HP ink cartridges is to use a refill kit. Refill kits are made specifically for each brand of printer and allow you to refill your empty cartridges. Both inkjet cartridges and toner cartridges can be refilled in this way.

If you have run out of ink for your HP printer and are ready to purchase a new HP ink cartridge you might like to know that there are other alternatives to purchasing a genuine printer ink cartridge. A genuine HP ink cartridge is expensive but there are other options you might like to consider.
A genuine HP ink cartridge is also known as an OEM cartridge. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. This essentially means that your cartridge has been manufactured by the Hewlett Packard company to meet all the requirements for your printer. Unfortunately, genuine HP ink cartridges are expensive – in some cases you might even pay more for your HP ink cartridge than you did for your printer.
So what are your alternatives? One option is to purchase a compatible HP ink cartridge. Compatible cartridges are generic branded cartridges that do the exact job as an OEM printer cartridge. And there is no longer the problem of thinking that using a non OEM cartridge will void your warranty. This is no longer the case due to legislation known as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act.
Another way to purchase your HP ink cartridge, and keep costs down, is to buy a remanufactured cartridge. Remanufactured printer cartridges are empty original cartridges that have been cleaned thoroughly and then refilled with printer ink. These printer cartridges are then tested and approved to ensure that they provide the same performance as a new cartridge.
Whichever method you choose to purchase your HP ink cartridge you will find that you will make great savings and buying online makes the process easy.

Are you finding your HP cartridges are always running low on printer ink? I am sure you have found that HP cartridges aren’t cheap so considering the expense you really do want them to print as many pages as possible to get the best value for money.
One of the easiest ways to make your HP cartridges last longer is to change your printer settings to enable printing in draft mode. Draft mode provides for a lesser quality print which, although may not look as good as a high quality print, is sufficient for most print jobs. Printing in draft mode uses less ink which means you can print more pages and ultimately save money.
Another way to make your HP cartridges last longer is to print in black only. Color ink is more expensive so printing this way will at least save on your color HP ink cartridges.
There are even different softwares out there that claim to make your printer ink last up to four times longer. They maintain that their software can save on ink even when printing at the printer’s highest resolution. We haven’t tried them so can’t make any comments either way but for the fairly reasonable price tag they may be worth a try.
