A guide to buying a remanufactured Lexmark inkjet cartridge
If you have always purchased an original Lexmark inkjet cartridge replacement for your printer in the past then you are probably a little hesitant about purchasing a remanufactured cartridge. However, remanufactured cartridges, also known as recycled cartridges, can provide you with great savings.
Remanufactured cartridges are basically recycled OEM cartridges. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. An OEM cartridge is a new cartridge that is manufactured by the company that made your printer. If you were purchasing a remanufactured Lexmark inkjet cartridge then you would be purchasing a recycled OEM cartridge.
Remanufactured cartridges are cleaned thoroughly to remove all previous ink and residue. They are then refilled with high quality ink that is compatible with your Lexmark printer.
The next step involves testing the product to ensure that it meets or exceeds the standards set for an OEM cartridge. We say ‘exceeds’ because in many cases you will receive up to 20% more ink than you would in a normal OEM cartridge.
The Lexmark ink cartridges are then repackaged and ready for shipping.
There are hundreds of printer ink merchants on the internet today. Check out our list of top online printer ink retailers.
